Happy Birthday Little Man!

Today is little man's 4th birthday.  My baby is getting so big.  He started out like this

He was about 3 days old in this picture.  We brought home a tiny 6lb 2 ounce baby.

Long story short we were at the hospital 5 days.  I went in for induction on a Tuesday, little man was born on Thursday after over 24 hours of labor.  We were allowed to come home Sunday, even though they tried to get us to stay one more day.  He was so tiny that newborn clothes swallowed him.  The day we were released we made a trip to Babies R Us and bought Just Born sized clothing (for those that aren't familiar with that size it's the size between preemie and newborn).

He obviously grew...

Today we started off with breakfast cake. (It's not really a breakfast cake but he asked for cake so I made a banana cake with chocolate butter cream frosting).  He chose to only eat the icing and drink his milk.

Then little man wanted to play in the car and pretend to drive us around and then he played on the bed while mommy and daddy rested some more.  We made a Chuckee Cheese trip and were there from 11:30-2!  My parents surprised little man by bringing two of his cousins.  We all had lunch there and the kids had a blast playing, to be honest so did the adults.  Then it was off to Target to let little man pick out his birthday present (this morning he asked if we could go look at toys, not knowing that he could actually get one).  And here is what he picked.

Dinner will be at McDonald's where there is an indoor play area.  He loves it and today is all about him.  This is the first year that he really gets that it's his birthday and a special day only for him.

Happy Birthday little man!!

  2. Thanks Rachel! They do grow so fast. You want them to gorw and be healthy and reach all of their milestones but wishing for that turns into wishing that they would just stay tiny a little bit longer.
