A Mommy Kind of Saturday

Today started off interesting.  A while back little man and I used the back of some old wrapping paper to trace an outline of him and then colored on hair and clothes.  He found a roll of wrapping paper and decided he wanted to do it again.  Today is a little busy straightening up and making sure everything is done before his family birthday cookout tomorrow.  I told him that we couldn't do that right now but if he wanted to get his crayons he could color a giant picture.  He was fine with that and sat on the floor for about 15 minutes happy as could be.

Then he said, "Mommy, I have something to tell you."  This is generally how he starts a sentence when he has done something that will get him into trouble.  He used a marker to write on his face and foot.  A black marker.  Here's what's left of it on his foot.  I wiped it off his mouth and he has licked his lips enough that you can barely see it on his lips anymore.

There was of course some train play.  Little man has been really into his wooden train set lately.  He likes that he can build it differently each time.  He has also rediscovered the original Toy Story movie.  We started watching it with the hubby last night and little man asked to watch it today.  He was completely entranced.  I guess I should break out some of the movies he hasn't watched in a while and they will be new to him again.  Then a trip to the store, where he had a meltdown after leaving because he wanted to keep looking at the toys.  No, he didn't want to buy one.....he just wanted to keep looking.

  2. heeeeey! Harper bit a hunk of blue crayon this morning and when she realized she didn't like it, she came to me and stuck her tongue out so I could wipe her tongue. ...one hunk stayed on her top teeth for about 45 minutes! Glad we didn't have to go anywhere this morning. . .
